Authenticity: My Thoughts on An Upcoming Book Release
I’m one of those people who swears pretty infrequently. I find curse words crass and usually, there’s a better way to express myself. But in Honorée Corder’s new book, Stop Trying So F-ing Hard (9/23 release date), she explains that it’s used for emphasis, which I totally get. I know some of my friends will just love this book. Not because of the F word, but because it’s about being your authentic self. In it, Honorée explains that in all areas of our lives, when we meet people, we are meeting their representative, that persona they anticipate you expect them to be. We all do it. We project who we…

The Problem is X. The Solution is Mindset.
I’ve been on an intentional personal development journey for quite some time now. I think I dabbled with it for career purposes awhile back, but it wasn’t until I got serious about losing weight that things started to click for me. Everyone has different aha! moments, right? I would’ve loved to have had some of those moments earlier in my life, but what’s the point of dwelling on that? My transformation program, Your Purpose-Built Life (YPBL) focuses on a variety of tools and techniques to help you shift your current way of thinking to a way that is positive and propels you toward what you want. I woke…

Nourish the Mind
“We become what we think about” What topics consume your thoughts at present? Are you happy with the answer? No? Maybe you’re wrestling with a problem that’s nagging you? Instead of stewing, try this: make a plan for action. What can you do to improve the situation? By taking action, you remove the thought drama and move forward. Taking action, even if it’s imperfect is better than idling. We choose what we focus on. Choose to focus on solutions, not problems. Choose to focus on the heroes in your life, not the villains. “We become what we think about” is such a powerful message. Pretty sure Buddha said it first, but…

Wake Up and Show Up: Consistency Begins Here
I can’t tell you how long I’ve let my Good For You routine falter. I’ve let days turn to weeks turn to months. It’s a painful admission. Consistency is fickle and requires a certain level of nurturing and mindfulness. Consistency will wane if we aren’t also persistent. To you and to me, I say “keep chasing that wagon!” Here’s where I’m at. Every evening, I set the intent to wake early, workout, and check the other things off my Miracle Morning list. I have years now of cold hard evidence that the routine works for me! No matter what else I accomplish that day, I feel like a million bucks when…

On Prosperity Shaming and 10 Things Rich People Do
Prosperity Shaming This started as a reflection on the environment of prosperity shaming, but evolved into a list because everyone likes a good list, right? I also thought it was a more positive way to add value instead of just adding another complaint to the pile. I do have a point to make. And that is this: there should be no shame in being prosperous. Everyone should endeavor to be prosperous. I don’t speak of ill gotten gains acquired through unethical or criminal practices, which seems to be the light in which the 1% is cast. I do wonder if there are stats on how clean the money…

On Being the Model
My Humble Mantra Being the Model sounds so pretentious, doesn’t it? In one respect, I like it because it makes you wonder who’s so full of themselves to declare they are being a model. It’s the perfect hook in that regard. But I admit it’s anything but pretentious. It’s beginnings are rather humble, just a simple mantra to serve as my reminder to bring my best effort to all that I do. What do you think of when you hear “what you eat in private you wear in public”? I ran across that meme on Pinterest while looking for weight loss motivation a few years ago. Those words struck a…
