Gratitude

When I come across a resource of wisdom, I’ll usually stop and look around. That happened to me this morning. Thanks to Facebook’s gentle reminders, I knew it had been awhile since I posted on my Facebook page. So, I scanned Pinterest for some gratitude quotes, which is part of our two-part theme in this month’s challenge of Planks and Thanks.

I came across this 30 Days of Gratitude image. I scanned the image. Day 11 was “What talent are you grateful for?” I thought it would make a nice compliment post in the Facebook group, so I clicked the link. I’m used to scrolling and scrolling to get to the actual content, like a recipe, so I did. But the link to a video made me rewind and read the post.

I was touched by this perfectly placed random act of fellowship. What better place to break out in song and offer a spiritual hug than the Mayo Cinic? And as I write this, I now have a better appreciation for that seemingly lavish lobby with piano at the Swedish Medical Center.

Whether you’re religious, spiritual, agnostic, or otherwise, being grateful is something we can all benefit from. It’s absolutely free. There’s no downside, but there’s an abundance of upside.

What’s your experience with gratitude?
